Honeywell wanted to explore app solutions for showcasing their collection of innovative 360 videos. They are already showcasing their work on social channels like YouTube, but they need a branded, and curated experience that was convenient for their customers and sales staff. They also needed a CMS solution that allowed them to publish the videos without updating the native app.
Weald Creative delivered two native apps for both iOS and Android. The app uses Google’s Cardboard SDK to provide the features a user needs to view the content with affordable Virtual Reality headsets and their phone. We built a Content Management System for administration and moderation. The 360 videos were hosted on Vimeo, which has a robust API, and fast streaming of HD content. The app provided useful data and analytics, and we were able to monitor app usage, and crash reporting.
Although the app has not yet gone live, you can see a demonstration of the app being used in the video above. Honeywell were very happy with the work, and the 360 video content that Weald Creative produced for them, and we hope they decide to release the app in the near future.
